Independent Schools Scholarship Leaving School Certificate Year 12

What? Academic tests in Written Expression, Comprehension and Interpretation, Mathematics and Science.

 
When? Tests held in March, April and May each year.
What? State-wide tests for Year 12 students.

When? November.
NSW - Opportunity Class Placement Tests Year 4 NSW - School Certificate Year 10
What? Two test papers (each 30 minutes) containing a mixture of English language, Mathematics and General Ability questions. 

When? July.
What? State-wide tests for Year 10 students in English literacy, Mathematics, Science, Australian History and Australian Geography.

When? November.
NSW - Selective Tests Year 6 NAPLAN - National Assessment Program in Literacy And Numeracy
What? For students to gain entrance to a selective or agricultural high school in Year 7. Four tests in English Language, Written Expression, Mathematics and General Ability.

When? March.
What? Four tests in Language Conventions, Writing, Reading and Numeracy.

When? May.
General Ability Tests Years 3–6
What? General Ability testing may be referred to as the General Aptitude testing or IQ (Intelligence Quotient) testing. They all refer to much the same thing.
 
Purpose?  An amount of mystery surrounds General Ability testing. This is probably because it is not an actual subject such as Science or Mathematics. General Ability testing is based upon the student’s ability to think and reason, but most of the questions are based on normal classroom subject matter.
